Curriculum
WLCP supports developmentally appropriate education as recommended by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). In planning the curriculum, consideration is given as to how best young children learn and what activities are most appropriate for their age as well as individual needs. The value of play is highly respected. The classroom environment is purposely arranged to allow active exploration and interaction with adults, peers and a wide variety of materials and experiences.

A Typical Day at WLCP
  • A large block of time to freely select activities and companions
  • Small group time to pursue special projects and interests
  • Large group time to enjoy songs, stories, discussions and games
  • Active play outdoors/indoors
  • A light, wholesome snack prepared in our classroom kitchen and served family style
  • An opportunity to strengthen social skills such as cooperation, negotiation and problem solving

Field Trips and Celebrations
Throughout the year, we enjoy seasonal celebrations, class field trips and welcome special school visitors!

Cooperative "Buyout"
Want the cooperative environment for your child without the duties of volunteering? For the school year we are offering 2 first-come Cooperative "buyout" positions. These parents are not required to parent help or hold a board position/family job, within the school. Fundraising participation is optional and meeting attendance is required. All registration forms and fees remain.

These additional tuition fees are not fines; they are the Preschool’s attempt to give parents flexibility in their participation in our cooperative preschool and to get the work that needs to be done completely covered.

What Our PARENTS Are Saying...

"West Linn Community Preschool has been the best place for both my son and I. With the cooperative experience, I get to transition with him! I'm so pleased with our decision!"

"Sending my child here has been the best decision I've ever made. Teacher Cathy has developed a program unlike any other, and really knows how to foster the growth and development of her students. You won't find a better preschool for your child."
